PRINTER’S POTLUCK: 6 - 8p

An opportunity to share a meal, experiences, print tips, and more. Main protein course will be catered (meat and vegetarian option available). This is a potluck, so please bring a side to share! Open to any active or aspiring printer. Must register by Friday, October 3, $20 meal ticket will be added to your registration fee. Extra dinner activities include: a mini-print swap (bring-a-print and take-a-print, 5x7” or smaller recommended); screenprinting Wayzgoose shirts; and more.

PRINTER’S WORKSHOPS: 8a - 1p

A full morning of sharing and learning! Each workshop is 45 minutes, taught by local printers and/or a panel of experienced artists. See full workshop details expanded upon below.

PUBLIC PRINT FAIR: 2 - 5p

Come one, come all! All abilities and ages welcome to experiment and play in printmaking. Explore activities such as: block-printed henna tattoos, a print-your-own-clothing station, open carve tools and materials, a collaborative community print, fruit & veggie printing, a gallery wall, press demos, and a sales booth featuring artwork from various local artists.

8:00a - PAPER & SURFACES 101

PANEL: TRAVIS McCAIN (AK LITHO), DAVID RICCIO (LEMON CREEK DIGITAL), KAREN BEASON, HOST: JIM HEUMANN
Explore various examples of paper and learn the benefits of printing use for each type. Walk away with some foundational knowledge of paper as an industry, classes of paper type, and which paper suits which project, as well as a brief introduction to printing on fabric.

9:00a - press expos

PANEL: CHARLES ROHRBACHER, JIM HEUMANN, MEGHAN CHAMBERS (SALT WATER PRESS), JESSICA HAHNLEN (FROST + FUR)
Explore a myriad of printing press options and get your hands on the presses themselves! Featuring: an etching press, a hydraulic press, a Woodzilla press, a tabletop platen press, a flatbed proof press, a portable silk screen set up, and more. Come and go informally during this session.

10:00a - relief printing 101

HOSTS: JIM HEUMANN, CHARLES ROHRBACHER
Jim and Charles will walk through the linocut & relief printing process, from sketch to clean-up. Get tips and tricks along the way. We encourage you to bring a sketch or a block to work on as the group moves through the process.

11:00a - letterpress printing with woodtype and photopolymer

MEGHAN CHAMBERS (SALT WATER PRESS)
Walk through supplies and process for letterpress printing on a platen press using both woodtype and photopolymer plates. Meghan will demonstrate set up, printing, and clean up using both materials, and touch briefly on letterpress history.

12:00P - show & Tell Tools

HOST: CHARLES ROHRBACHER
Bring your favorite tool, and compare / contrast from the group-sourced array of printmaking tools! Host Charles Rohrbacher will keep the conversation going, give background on various tools, and participants can feel and experiment for themselves with each tool type.

Join Alec and Meghan to explore the very accessible and infinitely creative medium of monoprinting. Demos and a chance for you to pull your own monoprint will be available.
